This project is localized to an area of residences to the southwest of the existing runway for the Indianapolis International Airport.
Each participating homeowner within the project area had their home documented and assessed for the existing acoustic conditions. Based on these results, recommendations were made to the Airport Authority for changes that should be made to the doors, windows, insulation and mechanical and electrical systems to achieve the specific sound insulation rating within the home that complies with local housing codes for items that are modified.
